With a gala award ceremony on Saturday 22 October, held at the Maritim Hotel in Berlin, Germany, bringing to an end the competition for the Oskar-Patzelt-Foundation "Grand Prix of Small & Medium Enterprises 2011". The final takes place in Berlin, once a year to award special prizes to outstanding individuals, businesses and institutions. More than 500 guests from all over Germany were in the audience during the gala evening to hear the speech given by the Mayor of Berlin, Mr. Klaus Wowereit, which, appropriately stated: "The surmounting global economic crisis has once again clearly demonstrated the importance of small & medium sized businesses to the economy".
