Creating a reception area is always a special challenge! Classic? Modern? Or rather a bit rustic? - A reception reveals style and ambience of the entire house. An inviting front desk is the most important piece of furniture in the room. In our case, the counter features clear lines and a functional design. The higher element prevents prying eyes from spotting documents, technology or private things. The lower part of the counter provides the setting for a conversation and allows barrier-free exchange of documents, keys or some luggage. For this area, we selected the trendy Terrazzo Cassata smooth decor. The light and friendly surface has a modern appeal, its matt look further gives it an elegant impression. The bright basic colour goes nicely with the natural wood decor surface and the matt black elements used for the rest of the front desk. Subtle lighting elements enhance the decors' appeal and create a cosy atmosphere. Additionally, when the reception closes at night, indirect lighting can be an aid to orientation within the room.
Terrazzo: Old Decor. Newly Interpreted.
The word "Terrazzo" is of Italian origin and means "terrace" or "patio" in English. Many still know the decor from floor tiles in the corridors of older buildings. The floor covering is a smoothly polished surface made of cement-bound and highly compacted mineral inclusions. Now, the furniture industry has rediscovered the look. Numerous board suppliers offer Terrazzo decors in their current collections. The colour palette ranges from dark anthracite to light beige or white with different inclusions.
Light and Friendly: Terrazzo Cassata
The wide-spread and light basic colour of the Terrazzo Cassata edging matches the Polyrey T107 EXM board excellently and brings out the smaller blue, grey and brownish inclusions. In addition, the matt surface finish gives the edging a very elegant look. As you can see in the picture of the front desk, the light basic colour of board and edging can be combined perfectly with the wood tone selected for the lobby.
Protection for Walls and Furniture
It happens so quickly. You get a little too close to a corner and there is the scratch, the dirty mark on the wallpaper or damage to the wall covering. An unpleasant incident, marring not only the image of hotel lobbies. Our new corner protection profiles help protect highly exposed corners in public buildings or private homes from soiling and damage. And they look good too.
The profiles made of high-quality stainless steel are available with a stainless steel or black, powder-coated finish, in lengths of 1000 mm, 1250 mm or 1500 mm and with side lengths of 20 x 20 mm, 30 x 30 mm or 40 x 40 mm.
Quite useful as well are our T-bar corner connectors. These satisfy two requirements at the same time - style and function.
