Dark, matt black surfaces are currently extremely popular in furniture construction. The “colour that is not a colour” makes an elegant impression and gives a room serenity and depth. Naturally grained wood decors also come into their own perfectly with black as a contrasting colour. For those who prefer a little less darkness, single black style elements, such as glass frames, handles or handle profiles can serve as highlights. The dark surfaces can be additionally accentuated with inserted light elements. For the living area shown here, the trend was implemented with surfaces from the new Egger Decorative Collection 2020-22.

BLACK ALUMINIUM PROFILES

OSTERMANN's technical profiles can be applied in furniture, trade fair and display construction, shopfitting or interior design. You can use them to connect, cover, protect, stabilise or decorate furniture elements. For visible elements, it is essential that the profiles can be integrated well into the design of the furniture. For dark furniture, you generally also need dark profiles. For these, OSTERMANN can now support the carpenter/cabinet maker with essential new products.

As of now, there are “black anodised, matt” finish variants of a classic L-profile, for a whole range of applications, an isosceles U-profile with a chamfer as well as a 90° angle profile with a chamfer. Both the U- and the angle profile are available in many different dimensions. For board thicknesses of 16 and 18/19 mm, the popular corner connectors with T-bar and head are available in black as well. A black corner protection profile with a T-bar and a rounded head will adapt perfectly to black or dark surfaces. It can also be used as a cutting-edge, dark decorative element on wood or wood decor surfaces.

The plastic profile section holds a lot of novelties as well. Apart from clamping and buffer profiles, black variants of H-, U-, angle-, corner- and glass retention profiles are now offered within the range. For carcass construction, numerous different black carcass or dust seals are available. The extension of the range is completed by a variety of plinth seal and non-slip profiles as well as one universal sealing.

More information about Technical Profiles

Whether slightly rounded, rectangular or straight - handle profiles in cabinet widths easily cover open cut edges. At the same time, they allow you to convienently open and close fronts or drawers. Our handle Hula is a great example of how flexible handle profiles can be. It is available in 10 different lengths.

handle profiles Same as with furniture fronts, the trend in furniture handles goes to matt-black variants, material reproductions in stone and concrete as well as handles in "used look" designs. Nevertheless, as the OSTERMANN experts emphasise, current trends are not the only criterion when it comes to choosing the right handle. Obviously, the handle should also fit the style of the furniture as well as the overall room design. In kitchens, handleless fronts are still quite popular. Subtle handle profiles or handleless systems give these fronts a homogeneous structure and enable a smooth opening and closing of pivot doors, furniture flaps and drawers.

LED lighting profilesThe aluminium profile with a matt plastic cover is applied in combination with an LED or lighting strip. The profiles are ideally suited for background and accent lighting in furniture and fittings and protect the LED strip from dust and moisture.
