Description
This backing foil is a high-quality, impregnated paper that can be used as a backing, e.g. for one-sided surface veneers or other one-sided coatings. You can paint backing foils in thin layers. The light brown foil is suited for wood veneer thicknesses up to approx. 1 mm and the white one for up to approx. 0.6 mm. We recommend a test run, since many factors, such as board thickness, adhesive and type of veneer, influence the result.

Tip
With high gloss lacquers, a base coat is indispensable. Backing foils dry out with time and get brittle. The rolls have to be stored in a cool place, wrapped in foil. Backing foils can be bonded with white glues or veneer (powder) glues. It is not recommendable to put glue onto the surfaces pressed together with backing foils, as this foil is not resistant to splitting.
