The wood of only one trunk can be used for a large amount of quality furniture. To find the right edging for a wood-veneered furniture board, carpenters / cabinet makers will find at OSTERMANN real wood edgings in more than 60 types of wood and with different surface finishes. Wood Veneer Furniture: Eco-Friendly Craftsmanship
Quality furniture made of eco-friendly materials are a furnishing trend. With minimal use of materials, woodworkers can create superb real wood furniture with a durable design. The finished piece represents individual craftsmanship in perfection and as such offers the best prospects for retaining its value in the long run.
Oak - Ever so Popular
Oak ist still the most popular wood type for veneered surfaces, which is why there is an extensive diversity of surface finishes and colours to be found. Besides classic sanded wood veneer edgings, there are many variants with a processed or coloured surface: whether stonewashed, smoked oak or sawn look. If you want to design a wood veneer board with a particularly natural look, you can even get end grain edgings made of oak with 2 different lamella widths.
Cutting-Edge Wood Trends
There are, however, some current alternatives to oak. Elm wood shows fascinating colour nuances and is increasingly used in furniture making. Another trend are very light wood hues from trees such as maple and birch. For exquisite dark interiors, the OSTERMANN experts recommend edgings with a walnut veneer.
This is OSTERMANN Diversity
At OSTERMANN, carpenters / cabinet makers will find many wood veneer edgings in three different thicknesses (1, 2 and 3 mm) and as thin veneer (0.5 mm). The surface finish of the edgings is sanded. A bonding agent is applied to the reverse side of the thick veneers; thin veneers either have a nonwoven backing or the reverse side is pre-coated with hotmelt adhesive.
Best Quality
No matter which wood type you prefer - the edging specialist offers in its shop a range of wood veneer and real wood edgings which is probably unique in Europe and provides edgings in constant high quality to create exceptional wood veneer furniture.
